Do you remember the first time you had soondubu? I was first introduced to soondubu and Korean cuisine in my freshman year of high school. My mom took us to a local restaurant that specialized in tofu soup. I vividly remember the welcoming `workers, the delicious banchan, and the extremely hot stone pots. Most of all, I remember how the the soup warmed my body at an instant, and how much it burned my tongue haha.
What is Soondubu/Soondubu jjigae?
Soondubu Jjigae (or sundubu jjigae, soft tofu stew) is a traditional Korean soup that uses extra soft or silken tofu as its main ingredient. Toppings vary but usually consist of mushrooms, onions, seafood or meat, and gochujang or gochugaru for spice.

Honest Review/Thoughts:
• BCD Tofu House is one of my favorite restaurants in Southern California. When I first saw this at the market, I couldn’t contain my excitement. Definitely almost shed a tear there!
• This comes in different spice levels (plain, medium hot, hot & extra hot)
• Get creative and add extras, like garlic, onions, chili peppers, frozen dumplings, spam, seafood, pork belly, ramen, etc! I added an egg here for a bit more protein.
• To give the broth a little extra flavor, I like to add a bit of dashi powder to my 5 ounces of water.
• This is just as good as eating in a restaurant! Don’t feel bad about not making the broth entirely from scratch, since this helps cut down on the amount of ingredients needed and of course time!
